I arrive at my studio around 7:30 most days, sometimes earlier, and sit there in the sun every morning when the weather allows it.
What’s funny is that since there are offices next to my space, I see all the office workers arriving between 8 and 9.
When they see me shirtless, just chilling (or sometimes working on my computer), some of them can’t resist saying something like “HA! Some got it easier than others!”.
I won’t lie, It’s true that I was lucky and I was born in a developed country. And, while it wasn’t entirely stress-free and peaceful, it’s also true that I was raised in a secure enough family to allow me to grow.
That being said, a big part of why I can afford to spend a few minutes every morning in the sun comes down to the choices I made.
Some people think that things just happen because of inexplicable causes, but in reality, many outcomes in life are just the by-product of your actions.
Nothing less, nothing more.
(And the truth is, some of these people who are commenting on me chilling in the sun could very well afford to do the same thing if they didn’t have the latest luxury car model.)
I chose at around 20 years old to pursue health at all costs, and this is where this has gotten me.
There were countless times when I could’ve made a different move for my life and my career, but I chose this path. There’s definitely some pros and cons to it, but me being able to chill in the sun in the morning is one of those pros.
With all this said, what I’m trying to say here is that for the most part, being healthy and affording some time to regenerate is a question of priorities and what you focus on.
There are things you can’t control (eg: where you were born)…
But some of them, you CAN.
It’s all a question of what you focus on and what you truly value in this world.
