If “feeling a connection” in your body is a one-time event you can’t reproduce on your own… then those connections likely won’t last or transfer in real life.
I’m saying this because I’ve often heard people say that a coach gave them 5-6 cues that helped them "feel a connection," but as soon as the session ended, they struggled to recreate that connection on their own.
The question I always ask myself in these situations is:
What’s the point?
What’s the point if the person executing the stuff is still clueless at the end of the session?
Of course, you don’t always need to understand everything to make something work well. For instance, when I drive my car, I don’t need to know how a motor works. Same for my computer; I can use it without understanding how a microchip works.
But the thing with these situations is that I CAN get away by simply pressing buttons. I CAN stay dumb with those subjects, and things will “magically” still happen.
But this is less true when it comes to our health and mechanics;
You can’t just “press buttons” and expect things to work out well.
You can’t simply do reps, execute cues and corrective exercises and expect things to fall in place.
Ii may work at the beginning, but at some point, this will make you hit a plateau.
The only way out is to learn how to analyze a problem, dissect it and then conduct tests to come up with a functional solution eventually.
So, you WILL have to have a deeper understanding of how things work.
